I'm trying to hide page numbers, and the manual says to go into TEXT and then select NUMBERING to get to a PAGE NUMBER CHANGE dialog box. The problem is I don't have the NUMBERING option. Any help greatly appreciated.

I hope you haven't inadvertently downgraded to plain Sibelius. The only version worth having is Sibelius Ultimate. What is now called Sibelius used to be called Sibelius First - a stripped down version. The splash screen on startup will tell you what tier of Sibelius your'e currently running.

And yet again the stupid re-branding/re-naming fiasco rears its head again.

And how many of us have stuck to using the pre-ribbon versions. It was a shock to me to have to abandon my RiscOS Archimedes computer in favour of the inferior Windows PC in order to keep up with Sib development.
I still fondly reminisce about my school's Atari ST running Notator (which eventually became Logic). Those were the days. :-)

I had (until recently, RIP Bunny) a client who still ran Notator on Atari. Any lingering nostalgia was soon knocked out of me!
I was asked to revive some .ALL (Cubase Atari) files recently. Steinberg allow current Cubase licence-holders to download and install certain legacy versions, but nothing that copes with the early Atari formats (some later .ALL formats are supported).
Eventually I got an early Cubase Atari running on an Atari ST emulator called Steem. Great fun. Anyone suffering from nostalgia should have a go. It even emulates the prolonged loading times from floppy disk (though there's a fast-forward switch).
Hello Laurence. Today I switched to Sibelius Ultimate and there is still no NUMBERS area in the TEXT ribbon to hide page numbers. Any idea why this may be? Thanks so much for trying to help me.
For anyone still following this saga, I spoke with a fellow at Sibelius who told me that the problem seems to be one of compatibility with mac OS 11 Big Sur. Yes, I know, I shouldn't have upgraded my OS until Sibelius gave the OK. He told me that Sibelius is working on it and should have it fixed this year. I'm not willing to downgrade to Catalina, and honestly, I was all set to give Dorico a try, but the installation was a big unsuccessful headache. Thanks everyone for your concern and advice.
Hello Laurence. I switched to Ultimate a few days ago. The Avid support person seemed pretty sure that it was a compatibility issue with OS Big Sur. Do you have any other ideas? I'm all ears.
Thanks for the screenshot. Yes, that's where I've been looking. See attached screenshot. I remember having the NUMBERING field, and I have old scores (pre-OS 11) where I have hidden the page numbers. Weirdly, the search terms "Numbering" and "page number" don't yield any results when I search in the ribbon. [ sigh ] Thanks again for helping me.
That looks like 'Sibelius' rather than 'Sibelius Ultimate'. For instance, you're lacking the Parts tab. If you've just paid for Ultimate, perhaps your Avid Link hasn't noticed yet?
If you have recently changed tiers of Sibelius, then you now need to use Avid Link to:
- de-activate the old licence for "Sibelius";
- then, activate the new licence for "Sibelius Ultimate".

RESOLVED: I had activated Sibelius, and not Sibelius Ultimate. I created a case number and sorted out the activation problems with the help of a Support technician. Also, I was looking at My Avid rather than Avid Link, which wasn't helping. Thanks to everyone who chimed in to help. Apparently there are still compatibility issues with mac OS 11, but my problem was not one of them. Onwards and upwards.
