Cello - pitch bend notation
Posted by James Roberts - 19 Sep 08:48AM
Morning,

I'm copying a score onto Sibelius.

I'm unable to replicate the attached though. What's the best way to go about this (ideally both for printing and playback, but either/or would be acceptable).

Many thanks,

James

You could place an "l.v. down" symbol above the articulation of each note.

The "slight pitch bend" will not play back.

You could probably add hidden MIDI Pitch Bend messages if you really needed playback. (Look up Pitch Bend in the MIDI Messages section of the Sibelius Reference).

Experimenting with what might be underlaid in a hidden Voice...

Any ideas why these glisses don't play properly?

I think it's too fast for the glissandi to play.
Can you live with this (attached version 6)?
I tried it with a D# rather than Laurence's D. I wouldn't be able to tell that these weren't glissed.
