Copyright symbol

Can anyone please advise me on how to add a copyright symbol? I thought it might come up if i right click with the copyright text but it doesn't. Also i hear Alt 0619 works for a lot of people but not me.

I have sibelius ultimate.

Where are you typing it?
If you are using the copyright text style, change it's word menu to symbols (easiest fix).
Alternatively, add the symbol to the wildcards word menu.

Another alternative is to temporarily add a technique text object to the score. type [ctrl][shift]c and then copy it into your copyright text.

It depends what version number of Sibelius Ultimate you are using, and into what Sibelius "Text Style" you are trying to enter it.

If, when you right-click, you see only a list of "wildcards", then you need to reconfigure the "Text Style" for the style of text you are using, and change "Word menu" from "Wildcards" to "Symbols". Then the right-click menu will give you symbols, including Copyright.

Alt/0619 doesn't work for © but alt/0169 does.
Actually, \$COPYRIGHT\ is included in the R-klik menu among a bunch of inappropriate wildcards.

But Adrian, \$copyright\ will only copy the contents of the copyright field in the File Info page and you can't type (or I couldn't) a copyright symbol into that box. Unless it is already there because you accepted the default copyright starter if the file was created from a shipping template.

(I might be able to remember obscure shortcuts, but I can't remember any of the [alt]numbers for things like this! -0 and it does work in the copyright info box.)

But that is not the Copyright symbol.

Hi there

It seems that new scores started in the latest version of Sibelius include 'Copyright © ' in the Copyright field of File Info, so it should be easier for future scores than it might be for scores started in earlier versions.

Typing [alt]0169 works for me, and so does [shft][ctrl]c. But if you have a bad memory, edit the text style for Copyright, check Word Menu and select Symbols, then © will appear in the R-Klik menu.
