Kontakt sounds in Sibelius Ultimate

I know this has likely been covered before but I can't seem to find anything right now.

Is anyone using Kontakt sounds successfully in Sibelius Ultimate? Or any other VSTs? Any tips for getting it to happen?

Yes, all the time, thousands of Sibelius users do it.
What exactly is your problem?
Is this on Windows or macOS?

My problem is I don't know how to do it, otherwise I wouldn't be asking.

See the following chapters of the Sibelius Reference:
- 6.15 Virtual instruments for beginners
- 6.16 Working with virtual instruments

and the settings behind the "Folders" button of "Audio Engine Options", which will need updating whenever you add a new VST player device.

So I have Kontakt happening inside Sibelius now - thanks for the advice so far.

What's happening now is when I select Kontakt as the playback configuration, I bring up the mixer and Kontakt sounds have already been loaded based on what instruments I have in my score - including an All Percussion instrument in slot 4 that I don't want for my current score. I don't have a drum/perc part in this score so not sure why it's being loaded automatically.

Is there a way to stop this percussion from loading? I can't get it to save my changes.

Notice how the All Percussion instrument is assigned to MIDI Channel 4 +GROUPS - how do I remove the groups from this assignment?

A percussion sound has been loaded because it has been requested for the metronome click track. Try disabling the metronome in ribbon tab Play -> Transport -> Click. (muting it in the Mixer is not enough).

I don't know about GROUPS: that must be a Kontakt thing.

That makes sense but even with the metronome disabled as you suggest, the percussion still plays back.

It also plays back as though it has an instrument assigned to it; so along with every other track I get percussion playing every single note...

Please attach screen-shots of every tab of the Sibelius dialogue "Playback Devices".
Please say which sample library you are trying to play with Kontakt.
