Hi there,

on medium large orchestral scores my version of Sibelius Ultimate 2018.12 becomes super slow.

This means:
- Selecting basically everything is very slow, also in Page View.
- Dragging the page is very slow in Panorama, a bit better (though not fluid) in Page View.


Funny enough, this is on a brand new Windows machine. In fact, it seems to be slower than on my former computer, which was 8 years old.

I already do this:
- plain color textures
- no versions

Can you recommend any tweaks in Sibelius and/or in Windows which help.

Hi,

I find it takes aged to launch the program. But once open it runs up to speed. I am not sure, if in my case, if it's because it pre-loads all of the samples (which I currently never use)?

How much RAM do you have and are all your drivers really up to date?

Win 10 Pro x64, Sib Ultimate 2020.1(build 2221) 2.6GHz Intel Core i7 9750H, 32GB,10TB (SSD + 7200rpm HDD), Scarlett 2i4, Sib 6.2,7.5, NotePerformer and others.

Hi Mike,

16 GB Ram.

The drivers seem to be up to date. Is there one which might be particulary relevant?

I've just found out that switching Magnetic Layout off solves the problem completely.

But: Later in the layouting stage that won't be help anymore of course.

Thus: Any ideas what this means and if there is a way to make Sibelius with Magnetic Layout switched _on_ as fast?
