Problem with MIDI input From other keyboard
Posted by Ronald_18 - 21 Jan 08:49PM
Hello,

Last december I purchased the latest version of Sibelius Ultimate.

I used a simple MIDI keyboard to entry notes. All worked (still does btw) fine. Connected by USB.

Since a few weeks I am the owner of a Nord Stage 3.
This keyboard has a MIDI in and out, so I decided to use it with Sibelius.
I bought a MIDI to USB cable, and connected the keyboard to my laptop. (OKS-87770)

The device (USB) is available in the input devices.
But: where the old (simple) keyboard does everything fine, the new connected one, doesn't.
When I want to playback a composition, the sound does come from the Stage 3.
The (signal) lights on my MIDI cable also show a signal that is passed on.

With the simple keyboard I can even play my Stage 3.

Only, I can not input notes in Sibelius with the Stage 3.
How can I fix this?

Maybe the MIDI plugs are in the wrong sockets of the Stage 3.
Try swapping them around.

In Sibelius Preferences -> Input Devices, check that the new device is selected for "Use", and that the "Test" box responds to input from the Stage 3.
