Recently my long running copy of Sibelius (6.2.0) will not open past the startup screen. I see the window with the Sibelius 6 Logo, Hear the music play, then the program crashes and I get the message "Sibelius 6 quit unexpectedly"

The software was running fine a few weeks ago then this started happening out of the blue. I have not updated or changed the operating system on my computer.

I'm currently running macOS Mojave Version 10.14.6

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could be:
- a buggy or out-of-date VST or AU component on the Mac;
- a buggy or out-of-date MIDI driver on the Mac.

What was the most recent progress message put up on the splash screen (bottom left-hand corner) before the crash?

Those messages flash by so fast it's difficult to read.

Is there a way I can repair the 2 things you mentioned above?

I did a slow motion screen shot and was able to read the last message before the crash as

"Creating tool windows: Ideas detailed view"

In which case, I have no idea what the cause of the problem might be.

What changes have been made to this Mac between the time that Sibelius last worked correctly, and the first time that it went wrong? Have any new applications or utilities been installed? Any new peripherals added? Any options or preferences in the macOS or in Sibelius changed?

No changes have been made that I can recall. Is this something that I should contact Avid Support about?
