I usually write for wind band, but now I write for big band. Where can I find different note styles?

The same note styles will be just fine.

I prefer the bolder style of Finale's Jazz or Sib's InkPen2 fonts. Sib's Reprise is better than InkPen2 for clefs but little else if you;re prepared to mix and match. Also articulations need to be in a much bigger font size. And I use my own modified InkPen style for texts. The delicate style of Opus doesn't work for my failing eyesight. The closer I can get to the professional big hand written style of yesteryear, the better.

OK. That's fine, but where can I find the note fonts?

I guess you choose a house style. Appearance/HouseStyle/Import, take your pick. If this is available on your version of sib.

Yes, if you decide to use Inkpen, don't mess around with just the note appearance, use the whole House Style. The fonts are already on your computer.

Adrian is a fine musician and is entitled to his opinion. But I still think the 'quirky' Styles annoy and irritate many people, and few would complain at you NOT using them!

You say the nicest things, Laurence. I have to say tho' that all of the common symbol fonts that ship with Sib are so user unfriendly to those players with ageing eyesight. Articulation marks too tiny to read clearly. $igns and codas far to small to locate in busy areas of the chart. I have spent many hours making duplicate common symbol styles with larger font size and editing zymbols to accommodate those characters which need to be seen more clearly. Not one player has yet complained about my presentation, and I play a lot with "geezer" bands ;-)

I certainly agree that the standard coda and segno signs are too small. Fortunately, as they're normally text objects rather than Zymbols it's easy to enlarge them. (And that's one of the reasons we normally DO use text rather than symbol.)

The problem is that many users don't seem to realize that they are far too small to be quickly located w'out manual enlargement, and put them in the most obscure places.

OK. I found JazzInkPen and that was what I was looking for. Thank you.

You might also have a look at the Pori fonts, derived from the open source Petaluma fonts from Steinberg, and offered for Sibelius by NYC Music Services (https://www.nycmusicservices.com/musicresources/).

Rather elegant handwritten font.
