New customers can still buy a perpetual license outright, and those with an older license can upgrade their perpetual license too. I purchased an educational version of Sibelius 4 in 2006 and upgraded to 6.2 (still an educational version) in 2008. I have since retired from teaching and want to upgrade to Sibelius Ultimate, full version, not educational (I am no longer eligible anyway). Do I qualify for the current 50% discount? I want it to remain a perpetual license, I don't want a subscription based license. Just wanting to be sure before I press the add to cart button! You won't be switched onto a subscription, and will keep your perpetual license. After buying, it'll ask for the original serial number, so you can give it your original SCEE serial number from Sibelius 4 and 6. You'll then be given access to your new Sibelius Ultimate license and downloads. You license still be a perpetual one, so will last forever (unless you intentionally change it to a subscription in the future). With this you have an upgrades and support plan, which you can renew each year or pay in advance for 3 years. If you stop paying for these updates, the perpetual license will continue. 2. To find the Activation ID, click the "Show" link where you'll see the downloads too. You may not need the IDs anyway if you're logged into Avid Link first. Link now has an auto-activate feature that happens when it syncs the account. However, there are conditions where this doesn't work so you'll need the IDs. If you aren't, log in and this will start the syncing process * Go to the Products tab (from the left hand side) and find Sibelius * Find Sibelius and click Products and Activations You should see the license there with your IDs already filled out. Select it and click Activate. Wait a little bit and you should find it then activates. If you still need to find the IDs, go back to https://my.avid.com and you should see Avid Link and Sibelius on their own purple lines. Click Sibelius then the Show link just next to "Product Details and Download Links", and you'll see your ID pop down. Attached shows you what to expect. Hope this all helps! However, when I first went to do this, I accidentally did not change the button from 'Student' to 'teacher'. However, I fixed that up. But I've been an academic user since 2004. I fear now, that I will miss on the 50% upgrade price as I now have to wait. Not sure what to do here. But just after I approved the payment the Avid shopping cart flashed up and told me the purchase didn't work. I then saw the upgrade item was still in my shopping cart. I didn't quite trust this as the paypal payment looked like it had worked so i logged into my PayPal account and sure enough the payment from AVID had already been processed and money has been taken from my Paypal account. Paypal have since sent me an email confirmation of the purchase as well. So I logged into my Avid account to see if i could see a download link or anything in the Order History to confirm i had actually paid for this product. BUT according to my AVID account I don't have an order history, there are NO orders on there at all. I then went to the download center to see if maybe I needed to download it there. On seeing there was a link for the latest download, So I clicked on it (not really knowing exactly what it was) and downloaded it onto my computer. Turns out it was Sibelius Ultimate but, there is no activation code with it. It's only a 30 day trial. Please help, I would just like to receive what I paid for in a timely manner because I have wasted precious time I don't have trying to work this shit out! To activate the installed trial to turn it into the final product, launch "Avid Link" on your computer and sign in to the Profile tab with your Avid Master Account credentials. Signing in to Avid Link will cause it to check with Avid's licence servers and usually it fetches the licensing credentials (System ID, Activation ID) automatically, and activates your product. This next part assumes that you have the latest 2019.7 version of Avid Link installed. If it is not at least 2019.7, click to update Avid Link, and then click again to install that downloaded update as your first move (all done within the old Avid Link). Then in the Avid Link "Products" tab, check for "Sibelius | Ultimate", and see whether it is listed as Activated or Not Activated. If "Not Activated", expand the arrow on the button on the right-hand side of the Sibelius section, and select "License". In the License panel, you should be able to expand the "License Status" section to show your credentials. If the SystemID and ActivationID are absent, then you can manually fetch them by sending your web browser to http://my.avid.com/products and copying them from there.
