Major problems activation my copy of Sibelius 7.5.1.
Old computer died without me being able to unregister/deactivate Sibelius on it (although I still think I had the spare/grace license slot spare.)
New computer - succesful install - however upon activation it tells me the servers cannot be reached.
I tried the offline approach and downloaded the bin file - fail.
I also tried the Activate On Another Machine approach, which failed and invited me to download the AvidApplicationManager, which once installed and signed in told me that none of my products could be activated with this software.
I have serial, system ID, activation ID etc.
Why does the system seem to want me to not be able to activate my legally bought (since v3!) software?
Really annoyed now and any help would be appreciated.

Please provide more detail over what is meant by "fail". What happens when you try? Please provide precise wording of any error messages, or screen-shots.

Avid Application Manager is not relevant to Sibelius 7.x. Licensing for Sibelius 7.x is managed by the application "Avid License Control".

I can't think why it wouldn't be "free of charge" - I bought the software through the site. Seems like I'm not the only one with this issue...

Because your product is obsolete and years out of free support. Any support from Avid would therefore only be available at a charge. The single exception they make is for activation problems, which remain free of charge.

Thanks for the quick reply anyway, Robin. Nice to know there's still someone reading. I use this software every day for work and despite it's minor quirks, it does everything I need.

I to am furiously trying re-activate my Sibelius 7.5.1 as I have moved laptops, I have tried downloading and uninstalling various bits of software, I deactivated Sib from my previous laptop and cannot get it to work on the new laptop with similar issues to the ones above with just slight variation. Mainly the License Control software and the Application Manager just not working. Can I also send you my details?

It is no longer possible to activate Sibelius 7.x online. You should choose the alternate activation option "Another computer's Internet connection" and activate via a web browser (which can be one the same computer, not necessarily another one).

Im trying to activate Sibelius on a PC but it says licenses exceeded. I've only just installed 7.1 on this PC its only used by one person in our school too.

The question is: have you exceeded the number of seats allowed on this licence? In all the years that this licence has existed, on how many computers has Sibelius been activated using the credentials of this licence?

Is this thread still monitored? I am having the same issues as others above - I am trying to move Sibelius 7.5 from my old MacBook to a new one and when I try the offline activation (register activation on a webpage, download license.bin etc) it comes up with the following message:
'Activation failed: Failed to process your request. Please contact an Avid Customer Representative'

1. If the macOS on the "new MacBook" is Catalina or higher, then it is impossible to activate any Sibelius version 7.x. If you wish to continue using Sibelius on Catalina or higher, then you need to upgrade to the latest version of "Sibelius Ultimate".
