Why does my cursor/Carat keep turning into a hand that is difficult to manipulate? I don't know why it suddenly appears or how to get rid of it.

Is this on macOS or on Windows?

Do you have any keyboard modifier keys depressed when this happens?

I use Windows. I'm not aware that I have pressed any modifier keys, but it is possible that I have done so in error.

Mine turns into a crosshair sometimes, for no apparent reason. It still works normally.
