Chord/Coda Positioning Question
Posted by monsterjazzlicks - 22 Apr 03:46PM (edited 23 Apr 02:56PM)
Hi folks,

Two questions here, if I may, rather than open two separate threads (moderators please feel free to divide if preferred):

The default positioning of chord-symbols has been somewhat hit-and-miss, I have found. And so, I find myself going into each individual part and re-dragging everything in this regard. This may (also) be due to the fact that I feel Sib's 13.5 size font too small (and so I enlarge to cira 15.5 font size).

In any event I tend to favour the start point of the chord-symbol to fall slightly before the beginning of the respective slash-marker it sits above (please see screenshot 1). Does this look OK to everyone's eyes?

(I could not locate any mention in the "Behind Bars" book.)

Once I have found a suitable left-alignment do you think following (and saving) the steps in the below link will clear the matter up, please?:

https://www.scoringnotes.com/tips/left-align-chord-symbols-sibelius/

I have seen a couple of similar related threads on here but they are for Sib. v7 (I am on 8.6) - not sure if this makes any difference?

As I say, in this first instance I would be very grateful just for an opinion on how my positioning 'looks' to the eye.

Many thanks in advance for any kind assistance offered here.

Best,

Hi again,

Regarding the positioning of the "To Coda" icon, should the 'tail' be in vertical alignment with the first line of the double-bar-line, or the second-line?

(Please see screenshots 'Coda_1' and 'Coda_2' below.)

I could not find any mention in "Behind Bars" book.

Thanks a lot as always,

Paul
