Sib. First: Repeat from beginning of tune after a repeated first section
Posted by Calsatch - 15 Feb 04:27PM
Inserting a repeat bar at the end of a tune which has two sections, which has a a repeated first section, causes subsequent bar numbers to disappear. There is a start repeat, end repeat with first time ending, 2nd time ending, second section commences, then at the end of this section when a end repeat is inserted( to go back to the beginning) all subsequent bar numbers disappear.

Please don't make us work that out from a verbal description, when it's so easy to just post the sib file!

The End Repeat barline at 43 has no matching Start Repeat barline. Similarly the one at 70.

In this case I suggest you go to Play/Interpretation/Repeats and select 'Manual repeats playback'. This will get the bar numbers back. Then enter a playback map - "1-8, 1-16, 9-15, 17-25 etc." (Unless you don't care about Sibelius playback, then you can just select 'Don't play repeats'.)

As far as repeat notation in the score goes, write whatever you think your players will understand! Possibilities are 'D.C. Cornerhouse Jig' or D.S. for the first jump back, D.SS for the next...

Worse things happen in the orchestra parts of a Strauss Waltz!

I've had a look at that Tab, thanks,I had never used it before!
I will have a look at that next week...
I agree with the final comment!
We understood to go back to beginning and play the whole tune again,
even though (in my limited knowledge) Sibelius didn't
Thanks
