Hello,

I'm having a very strange playback problem in returning to an old score. I'm finding that the contrabasses will randomly change timbre/become accented with some frequency, and I can't for the life of me figure out what's causing it.

I have tried showing all hidden objects,
I have looked at the notes in question via the inspector (no live velocities etc. enabled)
I even tried completely deleting the first passage in which it happened from the score (deleted the bars and all contents) and then rewrote it from scratch
I just downloaded and ran the sibelius 7.5 sounds updater

I'm completely at a loss. When I try copying and pasting the material to another stave, it seems that which notes are accented/in a different, harsher timbre changes, but some are still changing.

This is with Sibelius 8.4.2, on windows 10. I have tried to run the updater but it says no updates available for Sibelius. :/

I have attached an excerpt with the first instance of the problem, with those notes highlighted.

The score plays fine here.

If you have kept renewing the Sibelius 8.x Support Plan, then you should be able to update to the most recent version: Sibelius Ultimate 2018.7 at the time of writing.

That's what I thought the response would be. Unfortunately my school does not have that subscription. Is there any way to work with the version I have to fix the problem?

Or, is there a way to do just a one-time purchase to get up to date?
