Transferring over to a new iMac and I'm having real problems with Sibelius and Sibelius Sounds not working. The sound library was zipped and copied onto my Samples drive (like all my samples) - it's there, unzipped. It did not show up within Sibelius 8.x (only General MIDI) under my perpetual license copy and the standard "find library..." dialog box never appeared so I could not point to it. So I got fed up and I just re-upped/upgraded and licensed Sib Ultimate in the hopes that it would solve the problem. It did indeed "find" the library, it now shows up under Play - config. pulldowns menu, BUT.. I get a strange, "pixilated digital clipping sound" when trying to play even a simple piano score, or anything else - pre-existing files, starting a new file. Clearly something is wrong. The library is on an SSD drive, the boot is an SSD too.

It might be solved if I could reinstall the Sibelius Sound library, but I cannot find it. Is it no longer available to download?

Can someone send me a link to the download, so I can try that, or suggest a solution to what else might be going on. We're talking a blazing, new iMacPro 10.13.5, 32 GB RAM. 1 TB SSDs for boot, samples.

You cannot just copy a sample library from one computer to another: there are also other files or settings providing Sibelius with instructions on where to find the installed sample library.

Have you in fact downloaded and installed the Sibelius Sounds sample library for Sibelius Ultimate? It is larger and more comprehensive that the sample library provided with the former Sibelius First.

With what technology is the external SSD driver connected to the iMacPro? If it is USB 2, then it is too slow for a sample library.

Thank you Robin. I own the full version v. 8.x as a perpetual license owner and have not been, or had the need to be, on this forum or Avid's (new-ish) site for quite a while. I was told by someone that this was the way to do it with sample libraries, provided I zipped them to avoid permissions issues. Guess not. I'm not having issues with Kontakt libraries doing this, except that Kontakt makes you downgrade to add libraries... Another sorry tale.

I just saw the little blue arrow by Product Details on the page you linked to and saw there is indeed a link for Ultimate Sibelius Sounds listed as "Sibelius Sounds 7.5.1" I hope it's the right file I had been sent by Avid to another page - the download list- that did not include the library, but did have various App installers and updaters, include Ultimate. That's why I was confused.

I am currently downloading the file 25 GB file. The Samsung T5 SSD drives are connected via USB-C to the iMac's TB3 ports, so I don't think throughput should be an issue.

Hopefully this will be the solution. If not I'll be back in touch.
