Hello,
Nearly every time I wake my computer from hibernate I have to restart Sibelius because I get a "no driver installed" error.

I'm using Sib 8.7.2 on a Windows 10 PC, i7, 32GB ram with a Steinberg U242 audio interface (left switched on).

I keep several files open (and other programs, such as Transcribe, Chrome, etc). This computer can handle anything I throw at it but Sibelius is the only audio program that I need to restart after hibernate.
Any ideas?
It's making "hibernate" a bit pointless!

I do not think it is reasonable to use "Hibernate" if you expect Sibelius to be able to continue using an out-board USB-driven audio interface.

Sibelius can only use audio interfaces that were in existence when it launched, and cannot use audio interfaces that come online after it launched. In the case of hibernation (which means that the entire PC is switched off and shut down), the outboard USB gets reinitialised by Windows when the PC is powered on again after hibernation: in other words, it comes online at that time. But Sibelius gets no opportunity to initialise its audio output interface, because it is not re-launched. It cannot continue using the audio interface it thought it was using earlier, because that disappeared when the PC was powered off.

There might also be issues associated with device drivers not recovering correctly from hibernation, and you should ensure that you refresh the Steinberg device driver to its latest released version.

So the basic answer to your issue is "don't do that". Does it work if you use "Sleep" instead of hibernate?

Yes, I see what you're saying - but I find it odd that sometimes it's ok and it's not a problem for any of the other audio programs I use (Cubase 9.5, Dorico 2 pro, Sound Forge, Transcribe)>
I'll try it in "sleep".
