Rehearsal marks Y-pos

There doesn't appear to be any way of moving a filtered group of rehearsal marks up or down to avoid collision, either with the up/down arrows or from general properties. Only the first one moves, so every instance has to be moved individually. Is there any logical reason for this? It cannot be done from Design & Position for a currently selected part either because it affects every part and every RM in the part, and switching on magnetic layout doesn't move them where you need them to logically be.

The Y values of system objects are not affected by changing the Y offset field in the Inspector (or the equivalent action in a plugin).

I never got a good explanation for why - something about how the Y offset is an offset from a staff and Rehearsal Marks and other System Objects live in the invisible System staff which has no location to be offset from?

You will notice, if you have the Inspector up, that moving the first RM with the arrow keys does not update its Y value in the Inspector.

Again, I have no explanation. One sort of workaround is to select several RMs, move 1, and while the others are selected type ctrl/cmnd+R, which will align in a row, which does work for RMs.

Just tried that, Bob. In the parts, my rehearsal marks are most often all on different systems. Strange that "Align in a row" actually works when they're not in a row (unless in panorama view). The only problem is that the first RM doesn't stay where you manually positioned it, but rather moves closer to the Y position of all the others.

Arrange in rows tends to make the final position close to the average of all the positions, so that’s not surprising that it would average out that way. Too bad you can’t just move them up once in a row but maybe if you moved all of them up kind of to the same area it might work better.
