Sibelius Posted by jazzo - 26 May 07:41AM Hide picture Hi, Hoping you can help. I am unable to print from Sibelius. If I do it looks like it spools but it never makes it to the printer. Additionally if I try and print to a pdf pro 10 file the fonts don't render correctly. I am not sure if these two issues are related.The printer is a HP Officejet pro 6970. I have installed the latest driver for it. The printer is new and I think printing from Sibelius has never worked to it. I can print to it from other applications including the badly rendered pdf pro files that generate. Hoping someone has some ideas. Regards Lisbeth Back to top | All threads

Do the scores look correct on the screen? As far as I can determine, "PDF Pro" is a web-based product. It would be entirely unable to interpret a Sibelius score file. The "PDF Pro" web site seems to have some difficulties with English. I see other reports online that regard "PDF Pro", as AdWare, or Malware, or a "Potentially Unwanted Program" (PUP), and provide instructions for removing it. Does your PC suffer from unwanted advertising brought to you by "PDF Pro"? Does your anti-virus or anti-malware product ever flag up PDF Pro as problematic? It is difficult to say whether this applies to your case. Some users report that, under version 1803, they can print single pages, but not multiple pages. Does that apply in your case: can you print just single pages from Sibelius? I have worked out that I can print the sibelius files using the microsoft print to pdf function so that is an acceptable workaround for now. The issues I have to work out is (1) Why I cannot print directly (2) Why the files don't render correctly if I use PDF Pro 10. I am unsure when I updated windows (or if). I have it set to auto update and don't tend to notice when it happens. The printer is new and whilst I cannot be sure that may be the issue. Both printing and correct rendering of fonts in PDF pro have worked in the recent past on this computer. I thank you for your assistance. You have given me some things to think about but I will not have time to look at this further for a good week so I think I will just put it to bed from the forum perspective. Virtual PDF printers are also affected by the printing problems of Windows 10 version 1803 already described. I suggest that you try again after Microsoft have released the fixes for those printing problems, which are expected within the next few weeks. My laptop that I use all the time is over 7 years old (although it was very high spec when I bought it). I have used both external pdf editors and windows' own, as well as Sibelius' export. All without problems. the only issue I ever had was with fonts not being properly catered for.
