Hello. On Mac, how to insert a unicode symbol? I have chosen Unicode HEX Input, but pressing Alt and numbers, it doesn't work, Sibelius just keeps typing the numbers.

I have to convert a hex number into decimal before I can type an alt code.

Zivkovic, you are correct: Sibelius does not respond correctly to input of hexadecimal codes using the Mac Hexadecimal keyboard layout: you will not get this to work.

The best way of inserting special characters into Sibelius scores is by means of copy-and-paste from an application such as PopChar.

Adrian's post relates to Windows and is not relevant to macOS.

I have found a workaround for this task. Ridiculous that it is impossible to do it directly in Sibelius.

I use Ukelele application to create a new keyboard. So having Alt and Alt+Shift combinations (these slots which I don't use) I was able to add any unicode character for my purpose, and it works well.
Basically, creating as many as needed keyboard layouts you can create direct unicode symbol from any possible slot.
