This is an enquiry on behalf of a friend of mine who is running Sib.6.x on a macOS.
I noticed that in a response to the thread “Sib.6.x. Window too large to manipulate”, Robin Walker said that “Quite soon now, Sibelius 6 will no longer be able to run under macOS.”
I know that Sib.6. no longer has updates available, but why should it suddenly cease to run on a macOS? Also, will it still run on Windows? If so, why one and not the other?
Even though the matter won't affect me because I'm running Sibelius Ultimate on my mac, apart from my friend, there may also be other Sib.6. users who may be affected.
Thanks in advance for any explanations.

Because Apple will be removing support from the macOS for all 32-bit applications, which includes Sibelius of all versions earlier than 7.
