No "Pedal Hi Hat" sound in GM
Posted by PhilShaw - 04 Mar 07:35PM

All (maybe almost all) of the drum sets specify an X (1) notehead in the "D" space as pedal hi-hat. But, that note doesn't produce a sound in any of them. I was careful to make the "X" a notehead 1. If I go into
"Edit Instrument>Edit Staff Type" and change the sound to "Closed Hi-Hat" (or whatever) I get the sound, but "Pedal Hi Hat" produces no sound.

I'm using General Midi. I don't have Sibelius Sounds installed.

Any ideas?

The sound is there for me just fine, but quite quiet compared with drum sounds.

Otherwise, please attach the evidence in the form of a Sibelius .sib score file that does not play the sound.

When I prepared a sample, it started working fine. I don't know
what I had done before. Case closed. Sorry for the false alarm.

Thanks,
