Technique marks for multiple voices
Posted by Gone To Lunch - 04 Mar 03:09PM (edited 04 Mar 03:10PM)
I want to have two violin voices on the same stave, one playing arco the other pizz.

But as soon as I add the pizz mark to the 2nd voice, the 1st voice becomes pizz as well, ie does not remain arco. The technique mark seems to apply to the stave, not the individual voice ?

Is there a way to have technique marks per voice on the same stave ?

You can have the notation. But Sibelius works on the basis of 'One staff, one sound'. If you want playback, turn off playback for one voice (and its Technique Text items), add a second Violin stave with that voice for playback only. Retain it for audio Export, hide or delete it when printing the score.

Also check this setting (attached screen shot). You DON'T want to use the same slot...
