Layout issues
Posted by James Roberts - 02 Mar 08:32AM
Morning all,

See attached... I've reduced the width of the bars in the full score using the handles and this has transferred across into the parts (as expected).

Is there anyway of the parts showing the full width of the bars? I've tried reset design but to no avail?

Many thanks,
James

Select the bars in the part and press [ctrl/cmd][shift]n - reset spacing.

Never, ever, ever drag staves wider or narrower - unless for a few very specific tasks. You are opening up a whole world of pain!

If you want a certain number of bars on a line, select the barline where you want to split and press [return] (not [enter]. This will force a line break and spread the bars out to fill the page between the margins. Unlike dragging, it doesn't affect the gap before parameter nor make a mess in the parts.

Unfortunately, if you want a Gap Before Bar in the score, it can cause problems in the parts.
