Sib. 6.x: Why when I choose "Lead Sheet" does it give me Alto in Eb?
Posted by Henry Robinett - 01 Mar 05:36PM
It always struck me as stupid. Lead sheet comes up as Eb alto. So if I input a lead sheet and I go to transpose those parts it's all messed up. How to fix this?

After you select the Lead Sheet manuscript paper, click Edit Instruments, delete Alto Sax from Staves in score and add any instrument you want.

You can also create your own manuscript paper for a starting point to your liking.

Not the best of decisions, indeed! Add an instrument that suits you better to the score, delete the sax, Export Manuscript Paper as 'My Leadsheet' or something, use that one in future.

You don't need to delete the alto sax staff. Just make an instrument change (in the margin left of measure 1).

PS. Would it not make sense for the Sib lead sheet template to include parts for Eb, Bb & Bass clef (transposed an octave lower). Then it is good for all the saxes, clarinet, trumpet & trombone. See attached.
