Sib. 6.x: Is there a problem with Sib 6 and Sierra?
Posted by Henry Robinett - 28 Feb 08:19PM
Hm. I finally upgraded from Yosemite to Sierra and I'm having problems with my old trusty Sibelius 6. Do I have to upgrade or find another program? The chord symbols aren't working. I'm hoping something is just corrupt and a reboot will handle. I thought I'd ask here first. I'm entering chord symbols but I think they're entering as text. The tab or space bar don't work for advancing into the next bar or measure. And the chords won't transpose.

Hi!

Actually, Sibelius 6 isn't compatible with Sierra anymore. Please refer to the link below:

But I've created a case for you so that we could check: 03415175

Avid doesn't officially support Sib 6 on Sierra but I've been using it just fine for a long time.

Chord symbols work for me. Space bar advances to the next beat. And they transpose. However tab is not advancing to the next measure.

Yikes. I should've checked before I bounced. Well that's hopeful that space bar advances. Maybe it's just something strange in my settings.

In Preferences>Other, if I uncheck "Use legacy chord symbol input" then the tab key works to advance chord symbol input to the next measure. Another thing to check is Preferences>Shortcuts and make sure that control-K (or command-K on the mac) is set for Create Chord Symbol.

Thanks. The "Use legacy chord symbol input," is already unchecked. I'll try it checked. Maybe that's what you meant?
