Final measure to play at FINE?
Posted by jhgarrison - 28 Feb 06:29AM
Structure is A - (FINE) - B - C - D.C.alFine

When arriving at the FINE the second time I want a final measure played (that is not played the first time through).

My options seem to be

1) Remove the FINE and D.C., copy all of A to the end and add the final measure there. Simple, works and Sibelius can play it. But I'd rather not do this as A is somewhat long and this would cause parts to spill onto an extra page.

2) Replace the FINE with "To Coda (2nd time)"; replace the D.C.alFine with just D.C., and add the last measure as a Coda. This would mean an awkward long jump forward for the musicians, and I don't think there's a way to tell Sibelius what I mean for playback.

Are there any other options to notate this that Sibelius can play?

I think you may need to go to Play/Interpretation/Repeats and map your order of play manually.

Yes, I think a 'non-standard' notation might be permissable in this case. Just add the extra bar inline and label it clearly. Then, like Adrian says (and if playback in Sibelius is important) a manual playback map.
