My Instrument Edits keep reverting to default

Sibelius keeps forgetting my instrument edits every time I close it. I use lots of staves in my music and I don't use the instrument change name and instrument change name warning. Usually the instrument itself isn't changing in the music, just the stave. I used to have them all delete in my scores. Now, every time I open my score, the instruments' names have reverted back to default. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Sorry, I really haven't grasped what the problem is. Could you perhaps attach a few screen-shots illustrating the issue? And provide some details of what "editing" (where and how you do it) it is that is disappearing?

Sorry, I thought I was clear. In the Edit Instruments dialogue box, I delete the "Instrument Change" name and "Instrument Warning" name. I don't want them appear when I change instruments. When I change instruments, I am doing so simply to change the type of staff being used. Now, every time I close Sibelius it reverts back to the default names for these boxes. Any instrument changes I have done previously, stay as they were. But if I change an instrument again, Sibelius put those name into the score. Thanks. I hope this is clearer.

OK, yes, it is well known that changes made to the various name boxes in the "Edit Instrument" dialogue do not take permanent effect. You don't have to close Sibelius to see this: just close and re-open the score. This has been the case ever since Sibelius 7.0. I don't know whether or when it will get fixed. There is no work-around that I know of.

Great... I guess the work around is just to hide all the names that pop up. Not very efficient. Thanks.

Just a thought, but if you include a tilde ~ at the start of the name, does it make it invisible?
