We don't have enough information to help you. Maybe Sibelius is not in note-input mode?

Thank you, Robin, for your kind reply, and sorry for my bad English.
Practically, it happens that some notes are written, but then, inexplicably, suddenly, although in the cursor also indicates the note that should be inserted, nothing is entered.Only after numerous random attempts, it happens that a new series of notes, always few, is inserted.Of course I tried with more pen for Surface pro 4 (first type) and also with the old pen of the previous Surface pro 3, without being able to solve the problem.
It may already be a good result to confirm that there are users of Sibelius 8.7.2 who currently insert notes with the Surface pro 4 pen without problems.
I add that with the first versions of Sibelius 8 and with the previous Surface pro 3 I never had problems inserting notes with the pen.
Subsequently, after having changed Surface, and a period of inactivity, I am experiencing this problem.

sometimes I would be tempted to think that
it could be that the latest versions of windows 10 penalize the compatibility of the Surface pro 4 pen with Sibelius.
I know this could be a bad thought...,
but it would be enough to find out that there are Surface pro 4-Sibelius 8.7.2 users who do not have my problem
to begin to understand something ...

I am having a similar problem, I am using Surface pro and my pen stops inputting notes after about 3 minutes of use. It still works on the task bar and the scroll bars, just not in the score area. Finger touch on the screen does not work either, but just like the pen does work on the scroll bars and task bar at the top. The track pad does work just like a mouse would on the score area. I can restart the computer and it works for even a shorter time. It only works for 3 minutes if I wait until the next day to turn it on again. I have a keyboard plugged in for note input also and that continues to work even when the pen doesn't. It seemed to start acting like this about the time I did the latest Windows update back in December or January.

This is a known problem that started with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. There is, at the time of writing, no fix available for Sibelius.
