Avid\Sibelius\PocoFoundation.dll Preventing Sibelius from opening

I recently downloaded the Sibelius Upgrade Plan (8.7.2). Previously Sibelius 8 was working fine, however, since the upgrade the program won't open.

I receive the error status 0xc0000020 with "C:\Program Files\Avid\Sibelius\PocoFoundation.dll is not designed to run with Windows or has an error."

I'm running Windows 10. I've made contact via Customer Support but with no resolution. Any help greatly appreciated!

P.S. I'm uncertain if this is linked but I had (am having!) an issue with Windows 10 Updates. I had to uninstall Avid Application Manager for a previous update to complete and the most recent update has tried and failed (at 87%) a half dozen times. I'm very close to the nuclear option of a factory reset!

This error is typical of the damage that McAfee can do to an installation. To recover from this, do the following things in the following order:
- uninstall McAfee;
- uninstall Avid Application Manager;
- uninstall Sibelius;
- re-install Sibelius (which will install Avid Application Manager);
- DO NOT reinstall McAfee, ever.

Has anyone who paid for McAfee succeeded in getting a refund? Does it damage programs other than Sibelius? Or do we blame this on Avid?

Yes, I have seen a similar case of damage to an entirely different application, on another forum.

I have not seen any reports of this having happened before August 2017.
