Exporting Parts
Posted by tboy76 - 26 Dec 09:27AM
Hey,

So I'm trying to export the 'Rhythm Guitar Part no 2' from this arrangement. When I go to export it, it gives me four options of that part, but I don't want 4, I only want one, the correct one. See pic. It also does the same thing with other guitar parts...it seems to save earlier versions and present them all and consequently I have trouble choosing them. How do I only get the correct one presented to me??

You have created a total of 16 Dynamic Part Scores, from a Full Score that has 6 instrument staves. Of those 16 Parts, 6 have been named "Rhythm Guitar 1, Acoustic Guitar", and 4 are named "Rhythm Guitar 2, Acoustic Guitar". Some Parts appear to be duplicates of each other, in different states of editing.

It's a really bad idea to have multiple Parts named the same.

You need to rationalise the number of Dynamic Parts down to the number that you actually need (by deleting the ones that you do not need), and then ensure that the display name of each Part (in menus etc) is unique.

OK. Where are all these parts coming from . As I recall I only created 3 guitar parts and edited those. Where are all these extra ones coming from ?

By pressing the "New Part" button in ribbon tab "Parts".

In a normal score, a Part is automatically created for each instrument stave. If you require nothing more, there is no need to go anywhere the Create Part menu. Just click the Parts button (see attachment) on the main page and choose the one you want to look at and modify.

It seems you've got into a muddle. Maybe you should go to the Parts tab, click Delete Part and choose all of them. (Don't worry, the music in the Score will survive!) Then click Create Part. You'll be offered a default set of Parts. Say yes.
