Trying to install Sibelius Sound Set Editor from the following page

Unfortunately, when I click the sse.air download link and try and install the file, I get the error message: "Sorry, an error has occured. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."

Does anyone know another link for downloading a usable Sibelius Sound Set Editor?

We are waiting for Avid to re-sign the SSE with a certificate which has not expired. It was Adobe that made this problem.

By the way, using SSE was not what I had in mind when I said in another thread that you should use a Manual SoundSet with the GWI library. When I said "Manual SoundSet" I meant "Manual SoundSet" as described in the Sibelius Reference.

Since you only want one instrument from GWI, it would be quite over-the-top to develop a full SoundSet using SSE. A Manual Soundset ought to be quite sufficient.

Thanks Robin. I thought as much and will have a go.

I did get a response from Avid who said that restoring the SSE download was on their list of things that needed fixing and he might see if he could bump it up a bit!

The workaround on Adobe's website worked for me, without having to mess about resetting the system date.

Here's the procedure for Windows users:

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0. Single-click "Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe" to select it. Start holding down the Ctrl key. Right-click on the above file, then take "Run as Administrator". Keep the Ctrl key held down while you agree to the UAC (User Account Control) permission. Finally when the "Select an installation package" window opens, release the Ctrl key, navigate to your downloaded sse.air file, and select it.

It's an easy workaround. Nevertheless, it's pretty pathetic that Avid can't be bothered to re-issue sse.air with an updated SHA certificate. In the good old days, I reckon Daniel would have had it done in about 10 minutes flat!
