I have Garritan GPO4 and JABB3 which work fine with Sibelius 6.1 on Windows 10.

I desperately wanted a zither in a piece I am arranging (notating), so recently bought Garritan World Instruments.

It has loaded into the Aria Player/Engine fine, but when I try and set it up to work in Sibelius, it doesn't seem to find it.

I keep rebooting and rescanning audio devices, but it never appears as an option.

Any ideas?

P.S. Sorry if this subject has already been tackled, but I can't seem to search the threads. Nothing happens when I click the search button! (It's not my day.)

There is no official Sibelius SoundSet file for the Garritan World Instruments sample library (unlike GPO4 and JABB3, for which SoundSets ship with Sibelius). Therefore, it is not easy for beginners to use GWI, as it would involve "Manual SoundSet" configuration.

At one point, the owner of https://www.thewritescore.com/ was intending to develop a proper Sibelius Soundset to enable use of the GWI sample library, but I do not know what became of that project.

So, in summary, GWI is unusable with Sibelius unless you become sufficiently familiar with the technical specification of the GWI sample library that you can configure a Manual Soundset for Sibelius.

Ah. Thanks Robin. I wish I'd realised before I went ahead and bought it. I should have done more research! I will just have to see if I can learn how to configure a manual soundset.
