Converting a Sib file to audio
Posted by Charles Healey - 04 Dec 06:59PM

When I try to convert this file to audio the piano part is missing. I have converted many other files successfully

I have just downloaded your score into Sibelius 7.1.3 and converted it to a wav file. The piano sounds fine.

Would you like me to e-mail it to you?

Hi Joel,

I think this must just be a freaky file as others which are set up in exactly the same way are converting properly. But in answer to your question, yes I can hear the piano clearly in Sibelius just not in the wav file it converts to.

assume you meant when you export to a wav file. So the first thing I would check is whether you can hear the piano part when you play the score from within Sibelius? And are you sure the current playback configuration matched the one in export and that the piano is not muted in the mixer.

Let see if you say yes to all of the above so we can continue to troubleshoot. You may also want to let us know what sampler you have put into the playback configuration to play the piano.

BTW, if you use the "General MIDI (Basic)" playback configuration, it sounds fine to me for both the piano and clarinet when played from within Sibelius.

When you export to audio you must be using VST instruments for all the instrument sounds. I think it will warn you, though if that is not the case.
