Hi Everyone,

I'm now running Sibelius 8.7.2.

I want to add English terms indicative of style on my score and not Italian. Is the best way to do this through pain system text?

I have tried adding the term I want into Edit Text Styles and then assigning the term to Expression. But when I click on a note and go to Expression, the term cannot be found.

Obviously, I am not doing that the right way. Can anyone guide me on this?

Just choose an appropriate Text Style and start typing. I expect Tempo Text or Expression Text would be good choices. Maybe Technique Text. Depends whether you're indicating a speed, a style of playing or a technique for a particular instrument.

You should be able to type anything you wish (in English) into expression text. It will appear in italic (not in Italian) style. Glenn Osser's charts used a lot of English words like "loud", "soft", "very loud" etc. Per coloro che non sono andati al corso di musica?.

If you are referring to the words in the right-click context menu, then these need to be defined in Sibelius Preferences -> Word Menus
