Aligning to margin based on text border
Posted by Quelthezar - 01 Dec 06:45AM
Hello, I am hoping to create a specific text style that is boxed and is always aligned in the upper right corner of the margins on a page via the horizontal and vertical position options. I have it set up to align to the right of the page, but it is aligning to the end of the text rather than the border on the right side. I've attached a picture of what the default alignment looks like. Is there any way to align to the border instead?

(I'd rather keep the border size at 30% on the sides; I know setting it to 0% would technically solve the problem)

In Edit Text Styles, Horizontal Posn, uncheck 'Snap to margin'. Then in the Inspector, General Properties, edit the Xpos to -0.5. I thought there was a way to lock it in this position, but cannot find it.

Thank you for the response! It isn't quite the solution I hoped for; I was hoping the offset could be part of the text style itself, since I want to use it in a housestyle I would import into an existing file.

As far as I can tell, the inspector is only adjusting the single object in the score, so I might as well do it by hand since it only appears one time. I suppose a macro could be created to automate the process through inspector though. Thank you again, and let me know if you have any other ideas!

The only other solution I have to offer is to use a font in which the text box is part of the character. See attachments. Picture #1 is a font of my own making. Picture #2 is from the Reprise suite of fonts. Both of these can snap to the top & right margins.
