I want to create a soundset for the Cinesamples Percussion library. Followed the instructions at:

http://www.sibelius.com/download/sse/main.html

did step 1 and installed adobe air runtime. Downloaded sse.air and double clicked on it.

Got the message that an error occurred because the installer was damaged. It would not proceed.

What do I do next to install the soundset editor?

(also tried air 28 beta - same result)

You asked the same question on the Facebook group, and got a reply from the head of the Avid Sibelius team.

Another user asked the same question in the Facebook group. The Avid Sibelius team said that they would look into it.

There is only one version of the SoundSet editor: the one that is available for download. It has not been damaged: it is identical to the same download five years ago.

I guess that it is AIR that has changed at some stage.

You can see now that basically no-one uses SSE, so no-one has noticed anything.

Hey Robin,

Help me here. If no one else is using it, then what do you do when the samples you use don't have a soundset. I have been using Cinesamples (w. Kontakt) to score film and have been resigned to using manual soundsets with treble clef. That is fine so long as I don't hand out the charts for performance. The notes are clearly mapped to the wrong location and in addition, I can't seem to get unpitched clef staffs to work at all.

It seemed to me that the only effective way to score both electronically and for live performance would be by creating a soundset.

a. you could wait until Avid fix SSE by re-signing it with a certificate that has not expired; or

b. code the SoundSet by hand, rather than using SSE.

Not that I am aware of. You can try reading the ones that ship with Sibelius, to appreciate how they work.

I am having the same problem attempting to install the Sound Set Editor.
I tried restarting after installing AIR and made sure the Antivirus was not blocking the install of the Sound Set Editor.
If this is not resolved, I will have no reason to remain a loyal customer of Sibelius.
