hi ! my computer keyboard note input is suddenly not working - i.e. when i type '3' for an eighth note, the note a third above the note i just entered appears . is there something i need to reset ? thanks, holly
further to this thread . . . according to the reference guide for sibelius 7.1.3, alt/option plus the number is supposed to give me the corresponding note value . i never had to use this before - i was always able to go straight for the number - but i tried it and rather than giving me an eighth note when i pressed alt/option/3, voice 3 is what comes up . do i have to do a deep reset ? thanks, holly
Presumably "keypad" is some customised set of short-cuts, rather than the default set supplied, and this customised set is no longer working for you. Its name suggests that it is intended for use with a keypad, which you apparently do not have.
Try setting the "Current feature set" to "Notebook (laptop) shortcuts", and then you should be able to use the top row of numbers in the way that you want.

hi, robin . . . thanks for this - i made the switch like you suggested and it's working - at least for the moment - the numbers have shifted ( e.g. eighths are '4' where they used to be '3') but if it stays fixed i can live with that :) . thanks so much ! have a great day ! holly
