I use Windows 10. I recently installed Ableton Live Lite which comes as a freebie bundled with my audio interface. Since then, I was not able to start Sibelius. It crashes on startup while initializing audio.

Uninstalling Ableton Live Lite fixes Sibelius, it starts again successfully.

Any ideas as to how I might get both to work on the same system?

First step would be to update the drivers for your audio interface. Don't believe what Windows might tell you about having up to date drivers! Go to the maker's website, download and install. See if that helps.

Please provide a URL for the "Ableton Live Lite" installer so that we could try to reproduce the issue and identify the problem.

Please confirm whether:
(a) Sibelius only crashes if Ableton has been previously launched and is running in the background;
(b) Sibelius crashes merely if Ableton is installed on the system, regardless of whether Ableton is running or not.

What version number of Ableton Live Lite? 64-bit or 32-bit?

Is Sibelius the 64-bit or the 32-bit edition?

What information or messages accompany the crash?

Sibelius crashes merely if Ableton is installed on the system. It is impossible to start Sibelius if Ableton is even installed on the system. If I uninstall it, Sibelius works perfectly again.

Both are the 64-bit version.

Sibelius shows "initializing playback system" and then immediately crashes. No other errors. I tried enabling diagnostic logging in Sibelius as per this article:

However, it does not create a VST.log like it is supposed to. It seems the crash happens even before it starts the logging process.
