Hi, Just updated my Waves NX plugin. Sibelius sees it but it's no longer selectable.
Tried to rescan devices but then my Wallander instruments: Wivi brass & woodwind went missing. Crashed on scanning playback devices. They work fine in my other 10 audio apps. The whole playback thing in Sibelius is flakey. Crashes easily.
Opened a support case but got a response like I'm a total idiot.
Wonder how many years ago they did any update to the Playback engine.

Please try this:
- pull down the Apple menu and select "Restart";
- when the macOS has restarted, do not launch any applications;
- in the Finder, hold down the Option key while pulling down the "Go" menu, and select "Library";
- in the User Library, open sub-folder "Application Support";
- in "Application Support", open sub-folder "Avid";
- in "Avid", open sub-folder "Sibelius";
- in "Sibelius", delete the sub-folder "PlogueEngine" along with all its contents, and empty the Trash;
- now try launching Sibelius and check whether anything has changed.
- Sibelius will re-create the PlogueEngine folder each time it is launched;
- if there are still AU/VST related crashes, look inside the "PlogueEngine" folder for a file named "vst_filter_x64.cache";
- the file "vst_filter_x64.cache" will list all misbehaving AUs/VSTs that have been black-listed by Sibelius, and therefore no longer available for use.

Also, I notice that the Waves NX specification does not list Sibelius as a supported host.

Thanks Robin. On vacation so only have occasional internet. Got answer from Arne Wallander also about PlogueEngine. Actually restored from a backup so up and running now with the old Waves NX and Wivi running also. Guess I will try again when back from vacation.
Last time I had problems with the audio engine I read crash rapports saying that Sibelius uses an outdated version of Apple AU validation tool. I bet they didn't update that in 8.6 either.

Back from vacation. Uninstalled and reinstalled Waves NX latest version and now everything works perfectly. Guess something happened with the Waves update first time.
It's really a cool plugin if you work with headphones.
