I accidentally blocked the instructions I had received on beaming eighth notes on piano by right-clicking. I have resent the image. Please see circled item in red.

The first time I tried it, it worked, but the next time, there was a problem.

If you want actual score, will be glad to send.

Thanks in advance.

Mimi

On the first and last note of the group there are grab handles where the stem intersects the beam. Select the leftmost one and drag it down (or where you want it). Select the rightmost one and drag it down (or where you want it).

Hi Adrian,

I tried your instructions, but couldn't get it to work; however, I've attached the actual score, with Meas. 17 and 18 so that you will get a better idea of the problem.

Thanks,

Mimi

Mimi,
Look at page 383. If you're trying to beam across rests, that's the section you want. I've never used that function, but had some success with your score.

If you want to beam over rests, simply select the rest and hit 'Middle of Beam' on the virtual keypad (3rd layer, key 5). Your screenshot was referring to something completely different.
