I hope this is the right place to post this. When inputting notes with audition playback turned on and using either Sibelius 7 sounds or Noteperformer, some notes with short articulations cause the inputting to slow down dramatically on large scores.
To reproduce:
- Create an orchestral score (30ish staves) and fill 500 bars with crotchets
- Turn sounds to Sibelius 7 sounds or NotePerformer
-Attempt to input 4 crotchets using the R key - note that this is pretty quick.
-Attempt to input 4 staccato crotchets using the R key - note that this now takes much longer and Sibelius freezes while you do it.
The problem happens on most "short" notes - including harp notes, percussion hits etc
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with 24 GB of RAM. I've also had a colleague try this out on his Mac Pro and he replicated the problem.
It strikes me that a quick fix could happen by having an option to ignore articulations when playing back notes in audition mode. Is this possible?
