Hi there,

I have music here in two staves: One is the "main notes", on the other are just grace notes (leading to those notes). However, these potential grace notes are still inputted as normal notes, and need to be converted into grace notes.

I wonder if there is a plugin to do this. I would think of it like this: You select and copy those "potential grace notes", then paste them as grace notes to the correct place.

Does this exist, or can any of you ManuScript geeks tell me, if the current state of MS at all allows this to be done.

I find that if I go to the list of downloadable plugins on the Sibelius Blog and use ctrl-F for a search, and then look for keywords (in this case "grace") I often fond useful answers.

In the list, the link for each name takes you to the download page, which is where I found this description.




Copy Notes as Grace Notes (category Composing Tools)

For use with Sibelius 6, Sibelius 7.1, Sibelius 7.5 and Sibelius 8.x

Makes a grace note from each note in a passage selection, and copies the generated grace notes to the clipboard.

The plugin works by adding each note as a grace note to a "base" note in a temporarily added bar. All the grace notes will paste as if attached to the same note. The duration will match the original duration, or optionally, will be all 8th notes/quavers.

Notes that were in tuplets will be copied as if not in a tuplet. Selected grace notes and rests are skipped.
