I have versions 7.13 and 8.42 (and some older ones). Do I have to purchase 7.5 to work with someone who only works with 7.5?

No. You can open his Sib 7.5 document in 8.42 and then export to version 7.5 to send it back to him.

You'll run into complications trying to have three versions active on the same computer. YOU work in 8.42. Export the version your colleague needs.
