Sib. 7.0: fixing wonky note spacing ..?
Posted by dmiraie - 18 Feb 07:11AM
I've noticed when I input certain things such as septuplets, the accompanying parts get spaced oddly/disproportionately (see attached pic; beat 2, lowest voice). Is there any way to get the notes to align 'proportionately'? thanks

Hi there

Sibelius is not great at this, but there are limitations on how evenly it should be spaced.

I think what you show in your picture is about as good as you can get it without loosening the spacing quite a lot in that beat.

(You can't have a note appear to the left of a note that it should sound after, or to the right of a note it should sound before, so the amount of room for adjustment is limited.)

Sorry, not much help

Sometimes, if you really want things to look right, you have to manually move notes left or right. Shift-alt-arrowkey to nudge notes left or right should be tried first. If that doesn't work, you have to resort to the x-coordinate in the inspector.
