Sib. 7.5: Changing chord horizontal position
Posted by John S Yao - MacBook Pro 2.4ghz - 18 Feb 01:51AM
How do I adjust the horizontal alignment for the chord symbols? I'd like to change the default position so they align up better with the barline of each measure.

Any suggestions?

Hi there

You can move them left or right with the mouse or arrow keys, of course.

The default horizontal position of chord symbols is controlled by the setting at Default Positions > Other objects.

Select Chord Symbol in the list, and adjust 'Horizontal position relative to note' for score, or parts, or both, as you require. You'll need to use Reset Position on existing chord symbols for them to move to the new position.

But this will affect all chord symbols, including those not at the beginning of a bar. And all chord symbols should align to beats, not barlines: your desire to have them 'align up better with the barline' sounds like you want to put them where they shouldn't be.

Hope that helps
