What shows up is some old stuff I remember from Sibelius 5. All of the necessary files are in (user, roncleave,library,application support,Avid, Sibelius.) all their proper places. This problem happens each time I upgrade, or up-date Sibelius. And you did let the installer run completely; it's necessary to do that to make sure everything is in place for a new version? Many of them look like saved Playback Configurations (which are also .xml files). Where exactly is this particular "Sounds" folder in the hierarchy of folders on disk? Explicitly, only in the folder: /Users/roncleave/Library/Application Support/Avid/Sibelius/Sounds - in turn, open each file in a plain-text editor, and examine it; - if the file is a SoundSet, leave the file in place; - if the file is not a SoundSet, remove it from the "Sounds" folder and put it somewhere else safe, not in a Sibelius folder; - repeat for every file in the folder. All Sibelius SoundSet files will have the text: DOCTYPE Soundset in or near the second line. If you see the text "DOCTYPE" with anything other than "Soundset", then drag the file into some other folder is a safe place (not in a Sibelius area). -- Sibelius 8.4/7.5.1/7.1.3/6.2/5.2.5, PhotoScore Ult 8.0.4, Dolet 6.6 for Sibelius, Windows 10 64-bit 16GB. BUT .... I finally noticed what the problem is. All the XML files have the Play icon in front of them. I went to finder/file/get info. and tried to change the files to open with Sibelius. Play is obviously not right and Sibelius doesn't work either. Just continue to weed all non-SoundSet files out of the "Sounds" folder.
