I prefer 2,2,2,2 for 4/4 beam groupings and I've been trying in vain to create a manuscript paper that doesn't default to the 4,4 option. I've used the beaming options dialog to set it in the score I saved as manuscript paper but it reverts to 4,4 when I use the manuscript paper to create a new document. Can anyone help?

I think you will find that beam grouping is remembered in the manuscript paper when you re-enter the time sig that was saved with this particular grouping for that particular time sig.

No luck... When I open a new doc from the saved manuscript paper it opens to the document setup window and the doc it's about to create has no key signature and is showing a default starting key signature option of 4/4 with the 4,4 groupings. I have to go through the whole process of choosing other options and setting the divisions to 2,2,2,2. It's weird because everything else I've set up as part of the manuscript paper remains what it was when I saved it.

Before you saved the Manuscript Paper, did you establish the desired beam groupings by means of setting a Time Signature at the beginning of the score with those beam groupings defined within that Time Signature? If not, try that. Don't alter the beam groupings after placing the Time Signature.

I tried this out before I last posted. The mss I created opens with a time sig of 4/4 defaulting to 4,4 beaming. But by re-entering the 4/4 time sig, the 2,2,2,2 pattern that was saved is re-established. I'm afraid that seems to be the best sib offers.
