Sibelius - the leading music composition and notation software

I might have asked this before, but with Q3 2016 already over and Q4 2016 having just begun this month, do you think that Sibelius 8.5 will be released during this quarter?

What possible feature could you be waiting for in Sibelius 8.5 that would make you curious?

Avid has never announced release dates for future Sibelius releases. (At least, that's my memory.) Do you think your question is going to convince them to break that streak? Or are you imagining random non-Avid employees are going to know secret things and share them?

I'm just totally stumped as to why you'd ask a question like this.

Oh, I just get so excited at the prospect of software and updates. We all have to be patient for updates after all until they are released (such as when Joe mentioned the Sibelius 8.5 in some threads, which is still in development if i remember correctly) so I apologize if I caused any confusion.

Ok. A bit too much subtlety here. Is the "test version of the new Windows 10" one of the recent "Insider" builds? If so, which one? I want to do some research.

Does the name of the "unnamed other scoring program" start with F, D, N, or M? (I don't care if it starts with any other letter. In fact, I don't care if it starts with N except out of curiosity.)

I paid in Sept to renew for 3 years hoping I.d get a few updates..so far stuck at v8.4.2...any chance?

Getting "more updates" is not much value, if they don't have any significant content.

How many (failed) attempts have we already had to get start-repeat lines in the right place? I lost track, but I guess it's about 5 and counting...

Maybe 3 at the most - I don't think any parts of that came until 8.3. The development team is obviously small and also none of them were involved in writing the original code. So things do not move all that quickly, and problems have been introduced. On the other hand there have been some updates.

I think there has been significant content in the 8.x releases, though certainly it is more modest than in pre-Apocalypse Sibelius. I would not expect to ever see anything like the changes from 5 to 6 or 6 to 7 again, but it is not totally dead in the water, which is actually more than I had expected.

But surely, for what they are asking, we should be able to expect more frequent updates - even if it's just a maintenance or bug fix update. The last one was ages ago.
