Is it possible to have swung sections and straight sections in the same piece? It would be preferable to changing all the, say, quavers / eighth notes in the swung sections. Though I guess there might be a plugin that would do that.

Write "Swing" in Tempo text style when you want swing, and write "Straight" in Tempo text style when you do not want swing: this will affect all instruments in the score. Do not use the Performance option "Swing".

If you want some instruments swung and some straight at the same time, that is possible from 7.5 onwards. Write the instructions in Technique text on the staves in question.

If it is just a few notes that need to play straight, you can do this in Playback Properties. Check Live start position & duration.
