Sibelius 8.4.2 crashes when trying opening a file

Hi, I've recently installed Sibelius 8.4.2 but can't make it working. I can access the starting window to choose a sheet music model or create a new one, but when I select one to open the Sibelius main window, it freezes and then crash.

I've already read a lot of threads on the subject but all the solutions advanced didn't work in my case. I've i.e. tried to delete the com.avid.sibelius.plist, I closed every other app, made sure my license was recognized,... nothing seems to make Sibelius working.

I'm on macOS Sierra 10.12

Please help me !

I suggest that you should contact Avid Support directly.
As a Sibelius 8.x user, support via the web should be free of charge.

Thanks to you both for your recommandations.

The solution was to setup Sibelius in english !
It automatically crashed in the french, german and spanish versions (I haven't tested the others languages). It's really weird !

What were the language/locale settings of the macOS when Sibelius displayed this crashing behaviour?

I'm not sure I have correctly understood your question but I originally installed Sibelius in french. So I got the error message in french.
To fix the problem I only clicked on the Sibelius Menu > Preferences > Language and then selected English. I restarted and Sibelius wasn't crashing anymore.
